Jada Strayer joined the KRIS 6 News team in March 2026 as a Neighborhood News Reporter and is primarily focusing on Downtown Corpus Christi, North Beach, and the Bay Area. A proud Florida native, Jada was born and raised in Melbourne, Florida, where a love of sunshine, coastal living, and storytelling took root early.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies, with minors in Public Relations and Political Communication, from Florida Atlantic University in December 2025. During her time at FAU, Jada sharpened her reporting instincts as the political reporter for the university's student newspaper, developing a sharp eye for stories that matter and a commitment to holding power accountable.
Now based along the Gulf Coast, Jada brings that same drive to the communities she covers, amplifying local voices and shining a light on the stories that shape everyday life in Corpus Christi.
When she's not chasing a story, you can find Jada at the beach; she'll always trade a desk for salt air and a good sunset. She also has a passion for live music, exploring local food scenes, and finding the hidden gems that make every city unique.
