Victoria Balderrama joined KRIS 6 News in November of 2020 after graduating from New Mexico State University. Go Aggies!

During her time in New Mexico, Victoria worked at KRWG Public Media. After three years in the Land of Enchantment, she also picked up a love for green and red chile. The food was good but living in an area surrounded by mountains was an unforgettable experience and it also created unique opportunities. Victoria learned to rock climb, tie a bowline knot and hike the wilderness.

Despite having embraced the life of a New Mexican, Victoria stayed true to her roots. After graduating from university, she went back to her hometown of El Paso, TX. This was during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. As she applied to jobs across the state, destiny called her to Corpus Christi.

Victoria is literally living her dream. She always wanted to be a local reporter. In fact, when she was younger teachers often noticed how much she talked. One teacher even calling her a motor mouth. Mrs. Watts would have laugh now.

Victoria gained national recognition for her video on the Walmart shooting event in 2019. Only a few months into her first reporting job, she also covered the Texas freeze in 2021. After three years Victoria has worked almost every position from anchoring weekends, weekend weather and day side reporting.
