BISHOP, Texas — The fall 2025 football season features a strong senior running back class in the Coastal Bend. That's why we're highlighting six seniors in our second annual KRIS Super 6 Showcase, a combine-like environment that will air Aug. 21 at 6:30 p.m. on KRIS 6.

Last year, the Bishop Badgers made a first round playoff appearance. This year they’ve got a new head coach, David McHugh. One of the first changes he made was naming Aidan Andalon the new running back. He brings a lot of versatility, having played quarterback and receiver. That’s why he’s been named to our KRIS Super 6 Showcase.

“Wherever the team needs me do that to the best of my ability," Andalon said. "Coach needs me to go somewhere I just go there and do what I got to do to help the team out. The team always comes first.”

Andalon is taking on a new role this fall. Lead running back for the Badgers. He’s taken handoffs before, even thrown passes and kicked punts.

“His ability to come out of the backfield and catch the ball, his physicality to block and he played a little bit of defense as well," said Bishop first-year head coach David McHugh. "For us we kind of saw that and it sparked us to kind of want to throw him back there and see what we can do with him in the run game as well.”

The 5-foot-8 skill position player models his game after one of his favorite pro players.

“The NFL I really look at small receivers. I loved Julian Edelman when he would play," Andalon said. "That’s someone I really looked up to. Just like small receivers like that who made it.”

Andalon began playing football when he was 4-years-old. Learning the game from his father Steven.

“Having him there and always having that support and push. Like I have the extra push, always getting on me," Andalon said. "Doing the best of my ability and just having him there means a lot.”

Off the field, he holds a 3.7 GPA. Andalon is a 3-sport athlete, also pitching on the diamond and running track. His bench max is 245 lb., he can squat 385 lb. and he runs a 4.55 second 40 yard dash.

“My goals for this year of course get a district title. Back-to-back. We had a three-way last year with Rio Hondo and San Diego, but this year we hope to take it by ourselves," Andalon said. "My goals are to have a 2,500 yard season and 15+ touchdowns.”

Aidan is one of six senior running backs in the Coastal Bend that have been selected to compete in our KRIS Super 6 Showcase. His lineman is Ethan Barrientos. A combine-like environment that will put our athletes to the test through drills and more. The Showcase is scheduled to air on Thursday, Aug. 21 at 6:30 p.m on KRIS 6 and then later that day at 9:30 p.m. on our sister station KDF.
