SINTON, Texas — The fall 2025 football season features a strong senior running back class in the Coastal Bend. That's why we're highlighting six seniors in our second annual KRIS Super 6 Showcase, a combine-like environment that will air Aug. 21 at 6:30 p.m. on KRIS 6.
Last year the Sinton Pirates made a deep fourth round playoff run. They’re returning one of the most experienced offensive lines in UIL 4A, an added bonus for senior running back Mykha Green. He wasn’t the original starter, but when injuries sidelined his teammate Derek Garcia that’s when Green showcased his talent. That’s why he’s been named to our KRIS Super 6 Showcase.
“The thing that you get with Mykha is you get a kid that’s going to give you his everything or nothing," said Sinton football head coach Michael Troutman. "He cares about his teammates. Mykha really doesn’t care about the yardage that he gets. He doesn’t care about the touchdowns that he gets. He’s going to go out there and he’s going to execute the job to the best of his ability.
The 5-foot-11 running back puts the team first, giving credit to those that open a lane.
“My linemen really work the hardest, and it really shows in the weight room," Green said. "Mostly like every day in workouts and stuff they’re always the ones putting in 110 percent on the weights and stuff, so I really feel confident running behind them.”
Last season Green took advantage of his moments, carrying the ball 87 times for 865 yards and 10 rushing touchdowns.
“Just get the ball right there instead of having to like you know run a route," Green said. "I can just step toward the quarterback and get the ball do what I got to do.”
He also caught 33 passes for 398 yards and 3 touchdowns, and made plays on special teams including a punt return for a touchdown.
“Mykha has great vision. He can cut on a dime," Troutman said. "He’s relentless in his running and there’s no fear in it.”

Green began playing football when he was in second grade, and he learned a lot from his older brother God, nicknamed Goddy, a 2022 Sinton graduate and former receiver.
“He teaches me releases, and those are to help you create separation from the defender,” Green said.

Now he’s hoping to set a good example for his younger brother Khali.
“Well I just try to be the best role model that I can be, and you know lead them in the right direction," Green said.
Green has always had speed. He recently ran a 4.5 second 40 yard dash, but he’s worked hard to build strength. His bench press max is 260 pounds, his squat is 410 pounds and he’s got a 10 foot broad jump.
“He cares about practicing hard, he busts his butt in that weight room and giving it all," Troutman said. "When other teammates see him do that it’s a reflection of what this team is built on because they all buy in and it starts with our running back.”
When asked about his goals for the senior season, Green's response goes back to the team.
“Make it to the fifth round and see what we can do with that,” Green said.
Green is one of six senior running backs in the Coastal Bend that have been selected to compete in our KRIS Super 6 Showcase. His lineman in the showcase is Clay Mitchell. A combine-like environment that will put our athletes to the test through drills and more. The Showcase is scheduled to air on Thursday, Aug. 21 at 6:30 p.m on KRIS 6 and then later that day at 9:30 p.m. on our sister station KDF.
