CORPUS CHRISTI - Friday's rainy weather disrupted the usual office routine at the Salvation Army offices over on Josephine Street and they had to do their work while covered in plastic.
There's been leaking issues in the past, but one of the case workers, Valentin Garcia, says it's never gotten this bad.

MATHIS - Nickels and quarters went flying as an armored truck rolled off of interstate 37 near Mathis Thursday afternoon. It looked like a treasure hunt as the San Patricio County Sheriffs Department cleaned up the scattered change earlier today.
However, the action that took place after the truck rolled was no small change, while Good Samaritans arrived on scene to help out the injured and dazed truck occupants, another man that stopped had something more devious in mind.

CORPUS CHRISTI - A bank robber is now behind bars after robbing a local bank.
Forty-two year old Fred Simmons, walked into the Wells Fargo on Leopard and Carancahua around 3:30 Thursday afternoon and handed a teller a note demanding cash. Simmons left but was arrested in a matter of minutes thanks to an alert meter reader.
Employees told the meter reader what had happened and he spotted the crook and told police where to find him.

CORPUS CHRISTI - A man wanted on forgery charges out of San Antonio lead police on a brief chase down S.P.I.D. around noon Friday.
Detectives called for additional units to help arrest 44-year old Leonard Ramirez at La Palmera mall.
Ramirez jumped behind the wheel of a Ford F-250 pickup when he noticed officers arriving.
He took off down S.P.I.D. Heading towards Flour Bluff where an officer used spike strips to flatten two of his tires.

CORPUS CHRISTI -- Convicted capital murderer John Henry Ramirez appeared in a Nueces County courtroom today for a pre-trial hearing.
Ramirez was sentenced to death in 2008 for the fatal stabbing of Pablo Castro during a robbery. He still faces trial for two other aggravated robbery charges and evading arrest.
However, Ramirez's lawyers are fighting that.

CORPUS CHRISTI- Overnight, two drivers were involved in an accident and walk away unharmed.
Corpus Christi Police say a woman driving a Toyota Camry slammed into the back of an S-U-V on IH37, near Buddy Lawrence Road just after 11 o'clock last night.
The impact caused the S-U-V to flip and land up-right on the cement divider.
Police say neither drivers were injured in the accident but the driver of the S-U-V said the accident left him pretty shook up.

CORPUS CHRISTI- Overnight, slick roads may have contributed to a rollover accident that sent a man to the hospital.
The driver of a Ford pick-up was headed eastbound in the 1700 block of Morgan Street when he lost control of the truck and hit a curb. That sent the truck into a utility pole guide wire.
The impact caused the wire to snap and flipped the truck.
The man who is believed to be in his 30s, was taken to Spohn Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

ROBSTOWN - Wet roads may have played a role in a head-on collision between a car and a school bus Thursday night.
It happened around 7:00 on County Road 38, just west of Robstown.
It's unclear which driver was at fault, but a small Dodge Dynasty heading away from Robstown ran into the front of the bus heading toward town.
Emergency responders at the scene said the bus driver and a young child onboard were taken to the hospital, but a monitor on the bus was not.

CORPUS CHRISTI - The 16th annual, C-101 Two Guys in the Morning Turkey Bowl was held Thursday evening.
Dozens of people lined up outside Paradise Pool and Billards for the chance to toss a frozen turkey at some bowling pins.
Some of the prizes included a turkey fryer, a deluxe truck tool box filled with prizes, a self-propelled lawn mower and other cool stuff.
