CORPUS CHRISTI, Tx — The "Clear the Shelters" is celebrating its 11th anniversary and aims to find homes for pets in need.
Since its start, the campaign has helped over 900,000 animals find permanent homes and raised over $500,000 to support overcrowded shelters facing urgent challenges, including potential euthanasia. This year, it continues its mission to help struggling shelters.
The Gulf Coast Humane Society is actively participating here in the Coastal Bend, preparing dozens of animals for adoption as part of the initiative.
From Aug. 1 through Aug. 31, you can easily donate online and on all social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.

Tuesday's Pets - August 5 - Bo and Cami
Bo and his sister Cami are looking for their forever home! Whether out in the town or snuggling up and watching TV, this dynamic duo is down for anything. They are harness trained and enjoy car rides. They love playing with each other, playing with toys, and are treat-motivated, having even learned how to sit on command! The dynamic duo is about 1 year and 6 months old and has been at the Gulf Coast Humane Society since August 6, 2024.

This lively girl, Nova, is full of energy and always ready for fun! Nova loves to run, play, and stay on the move—she’s happiest when she’s active and engaged. Hi, I’m Rufio! I was dumped outside of GCHS with 6 other cats in pretty bad shape. I’ve come a long way, healing both mentally and physically. Now that I know I’m safe, I love to show everyone my HUGE personality! My personality might be too big to have other cats or dogs around. Show me some love so I can show you how I make biscuits and give you lots of love nibbles.
