CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Happy Weekend!

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • Near-record high temps
  • 'Feels like' temps near 110ºF
  • Major heat risk for many neighborhoods

Weekend forecast
A wash, rinse, repeat pattern is in the forecast through the middle of next week. The "heat dome" of high pressure above us will sit in place over the next couple of days. Saturday's morning low temperatures begin in the upper 70s and lower 80s, but will feel warmer thanks to oppressive humidity. 'Feels like' temperatures will be off to an aggressive start as a result, reaching the 100s before noon. As morning clouds clear out, afternoon highs will reach the upper 90s and lower 100s. The temperatures are near-record for many neighborhoods. 'Feels like' temps will reach either side of 110ºF and heat alerts are expected both Saturday and Sunday.
Please be sure to stay cool! Remember to practice heat safety by taking breaks in the air conditioning and staying hydrated. Look before you lock: don't leave anyone or anything inside a hot vehicle! Check in on kids, pets, and the elderly as they are more prone to heat-related illness.
