CORPUS CHRISTI — It is going to be another hot and breezy August day here in the Coastal Bend. A Heat Advisory has been issued for Corpus Christi this afternoon. That means we could see heat index values near 110 degrees again today. People should use extreme caution when spending extended periods of time outdoors. The forecast for today calls for mostly sunny skies with a daytime high around 98 degrees. The winds will pick up out of the south at 15 to 20 miles per hour. Tonight we can expect partly cloudy skies and mild weather conditions. Look for an overnight low around 79 degrees.
The hot and dry weather will stick around for the first half of the workweek. The high pressure that has been dominating our weather will shift westward. This will help draw in some tropical moisture from the Gulf. There is a slight chance for isolated showers Thursday through Saturday.
