CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Happy Saturday Coastal Bend!

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • Record high broken Saturday, could do it again Sunday
  • Air temps over 100 degrees in many neighborhoods
  • Major heat risk in the forecast

Weekend forecast
A wash, rinse, repeat pattern is in the forecast through the middle of next week. The "heat dome" of high pressure above us will sit in place over the next couple of days. Sunday morning lows will start cooler in the low to mid 70s. 'Feels like' temperatures will be off to an aggressive start as a result, reaching the 100s before noon, but won't quite reach 110+ range, so I don't think we will end up seeing another heat advisory tomorrow.

Please be sure to stay cool! Remember to practice heat safety by taking breaks in the air conditioning and staying hydrated. Look before you lock: don't leave anyone or anything inside a hot vehicle! Check in on kids, pets, and the elderly as they are more prone to heat-related illness.

WEEKEND FORECAST: Near-record temps are in the forecast across the Coastal Bend

In The Tropics
The Atlantic Basin is fairly quiet. We're monitoring two areas with minimal chances of development. Another wave with medium development chances will emerge off of Africa and could become a tropical depression later this upcoming week. For now, no tropical troubles here in the Coastal Bend.
The Tropics are brewing, with several areas of potential development.

Have a safe and fun weekend!
