CORPUS CHRISTI — It's is going to be another very hot weekend here in the Coastal Bend. A Heat Advisory has been issued for the Corpus Christi area from 1 pm through 6 pm. That means we can expect heat index values from 110 to 114 degrees. People should be careful to avoid heat exhaustion and heat stroke. The forecast for today calls for mostly sunny skies with a daytime high of 99 degrees. It will also be rather breezy this afternoon. The winds will be blowing out of the south at 15 to 20 miles per hour. Tonight we can expect partly cloudy skies with an overnight low of 80 degrees. It will be warm and windy again on Sunday with an afternoon high of 98 degrees.

We will remain in this very hot and dry weather pattern for the first part of the workweek. Daytime highs will be in the upper 90's with overnight lows near 80 degrees. A weak tropical wave moving into the Gulf could bring us increasing moisture late in the week. This could lead to a few showers and a little cooler temperatures late in the week.
