CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Thursday in the Coastal Bend is off to a chilly start.

Most places are in the 40’s and will struggle to get much warmer this afternoon with thunderstorms in our area later this morning and afternoon.

Windy conditions will be the case throughout the next several days along with a cooling trend. Wind chills will be dreadfully cold into the weekend as brisk northerly winds on the order of 15-20 mph will be gusting higher at times.

The rain will clear out on Friday, although spotty showers are possible Saturday night as a reinforcing blast of cold air moves into our area.

Sunday overnight into Monday morning, there is a small window for frozen precipitation in the Coastal Bend. This will come in the form of sleet or freezing rain early Monday morning.

Below freezing overnight temperatures are forecast for the beginning of next week.
