CORPUS CHRISTI — It was a hot and humid start to our weekend. We made it up to 96 degrees this afternoon. We did have some scattered showers across parts of South Texas today. A few of these storms dropped more than an inch of rain in a few locations. The forecast for tonight calls for mostly cloudy skies with a shower possible. Look for an overnight low around 79 degrees. There will be enough tropical moisture in place to trigger more thunderstorms again on Sunday. Expect an afternoon high tomorrow around 96 degrees.
A little drier air will filter in for the first half of the workweek. Expect mostly sunny skies with daytime highs in the mid to upper 90's. A few isolated showers could return to the area late in the week. We will also be closely monitoring Tropical Storm Dorian out in the Atlantic. It should move into the Caribbean midweek.
