CORPUS CHRISTI — It was a very hot start to our weekend here in the Coastal Bend. We made it up to 98 degrees here in Corpus Christi this afternoon. A Heat Advisory was issued for the afternoon through early evening. Another heat advisory is likely for Sunday. It was also rather breezy with the peak wind gust blowing out of the south at 30 miles per hour. The forecast for tonight calls for mostly clear skies and mild conditions. Look for an overnight low around 79 degrees. Tomorrow look for morning clouds with afternoon sunshine. The afternoon high will again be around 98 degrees with winds out of the southeast at 10 to 15 miles per hour.

High pressure will continue to bring us very hot and dry weather through most of next week. Daytime highs will be around 100 degrees with overnight low's around 80 degrees. There is a very slight chance for an isolated shower midweek. Use caution when spending extended periods of time outdoors. Heat index values will range from 105 to 115 degrees.
