CORPUS CHRISTI — It was a very cold start to our Christmas Day with temperatures hovering around freezing this morning. However, it turned into a beautiful afternoon with abundant sunshine and temperatures in the upper 60s to low 70s. We can expect another chilly evening. The forecast for tonight calls for mostly clear skies and cold weather conditions. Look for an overnight low around 40 degrees. A warming trend will continue through the first part of next week. Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 70s Sunday and Monday. The next Pacific Storm system will arrive late on Wednesday. This will bring us a pretty decent chance for showers. It will also be a little cooler behind the front. Things should rebound nicely for the holiday. We should see plenty of sunshine on New Year's Day with an afternoon high around 70 degrees.
