CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — It was another extremely hot day here in the Coastal Bend.

We made it up to 97 degrees this afternoon in Corpus Christi.

However, the heat index value was around 114 degrees.

People need to use extreme caution when spending extended periods of time outdoors.

These stifling conditions will likely be the case again tomorrow.

The forecast for tonight calls for mostly clear skies and mild weather conditions. Look for an overnight low around 77 degrees.

It will be hot and breezy again on Tuesday with a daytime high temperatures around 96 degrees. The winds will be blowing out of the southeast at 15 to 20 mph.

High pressure will dominate our weather for much of the work week. This means it will remain hot and dry.

The temperatures will gradually drop off a bit the next couple of days and we will see increasing moisture for the weekend, leading to a few possible showers Friday through Sunday.

Look for daytime high temperatures in the low to mid 90's. The overnight low temperatures will be in the upper 70's.
