CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A new ordinance passed by the city council on Tuesday will eliminate building permits for residential properties that are building accessibility ramps.

The existing fee to apply for a permit typically costs 106 dollars.

The new ordinance will waive the fee but only for building wheelchair ramps at an existing residence.

New homes will still need to pay the fees associated with permits involving accessibility ramps.
