One man died in a traffic accident on U.S. Highway 59 west of George West on Monday.
Reymundo Noe Garcia was driving westbound in his 2001 Chevrolet SUV, when troopers said his vehicle crossed into the eastbound lane, hitting a 2005 International cement truck.
The 37-year-old from Hockley ended up hitting the cement truck head-on and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Public Information Sgt. Nathan Brandley said the man driving the cement truck was taken to Spohn Shoreline Hospital by HALO-Flight with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
