Two of three victims involved in vehicle collision on FM 665 identified

UPDATE 7:50 p.m.:
The two children taken to Driscoll Children's Hospital were injured but are going to be okay. Two of the three deceased victims are (driver) 31-year-old Amber Madrano of Corpus Christi and (passenger) 23 year-old Jacqueline Espinosa of Corpus Christi. Both were in the SUV going westbound on FM 665. The driver of the sedan has still not been positively identified at this time.

ORIGINAL STORY:
Sunday afternoon around 12:09 p.m., two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision leaving three dead.

Sgt. Nathan Brandley with the Texas Department of Public Safety told KRIS 6 News that an older sedan was traveling east, passing multiple vehicles at an unsafe speed in the westbound lane on FM 665, while a Ford SUV was coming westbound when they collided into each other near Petronila and County Road 61.

Two children, ages two and eight, were flown by HALO-flight to Driscoll Children’s Hospital.

The investigation is ongoing. KRIS 6 will provide more updates as they become available
