CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — People from across the country are in town for Habitat for Humanity's International Care-A-Vanners.

Forty-eight volunteers are here until the end of March constructing two homes.

One is on Lipan Street and the other on Chula Vista Street.

The homes will be presented to two low-income familes who were previously selected.

“Right behind me is the restore,” said John Ray of Corpus Christi Habitat for Humanity. “All of the money that is made off of the donated items that we sell here goes into the operating fund to help keep Habitat for Humanity here in cc."

Many of the volunteers include husband and wife teams that are traveling together.

They are made up of retired lawyers, doctors, engineers and corporate managers.

The homes should be completed within the next 14 months.
