CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Across the Coastal Bend, families have been left without power or running water. Despite those problems, some downtown Corpus Christi businesses are up and running.
Some businesses in the area have chosen to close their doors because of the frigid temperatures, but the Pointe Cuisine and Cocktail has been open this entire week.
In the downtown area, businesses like hotels, restaurants and bars are under a water boil order this morning.
But many are still open, despite the challenges.
Francisco Cancio, owner of The Pointe, says his business has been lucky to continue to have their utilities up and running.
That’s why he says he has decided to keep the doors open.
"We opened doors and we left everything open for people to come, especially down here where we have hotels and plenty of other people who live down here,” he said.
Aside from being a place to stay warm, Cancio also says The Pointe is providing bottled water for anyone who needs it.
If you need them, they are open from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. daily.
