CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Cole Park skate park will be off-limits while it undergoes repairs.

Last month, the Corpus Christi City Council approved more than $70,000 in renovations.

Monday, city crews fenced off the skate park so that work can begin Thursday.

The project is anticipated to be complete by mid-June.

Repairs will include replacing the steel coping of the ledge, deck, and bowls with concrete coping.

The steel edges will also be replaced with granite and there will be repairs to the cracks.

“Our goal is to provide a fun and safe skate park for our residents and visitors,” said Mayor Paulette Guajardo in a release.

Skaters are encouraged to visit Wranosky Park located at 422 Graham Road in Flour Bluff.

“With our plan to continue to make improvements to our park amenities, the heavily utilized skate park at Cole Park will continue to be a great asset to our city," added Guajardo.
