CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Unlike most 7-year-old children, Nate Gonzalez made only one request this Christmas.

Gonzalez asked Santa Claus to give all his toys to children in need. He says it makes him sad knowing some children won't be unwrapping presents come Christmas Day.

"I talked to my mom and told them I don't want presents this year because there's a lot of people and children in need," he said. "If I see someone in need, it breaks my heart."

Nate's mom, Isabel Gonzalez, says her son is always trying to help those around him. So, she got to work trying to make his Christmas wish happen.

"We can put our minds together and make his dream come true," she said.

His event will be a success with the help of the sports community, BSN Sports and the rest of the community.

The drive will be held from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday at the National Little League Field, 1901 John Paul Ave. It will allow for people to drop off unwrapped toys or sports equipment there.

All donations will go to CASA of the Coastal Bend.
