BurnPits 360 is a non-profit veterans organization that provides services and outreach to veterans coming back from war.
In addition to helping with basic civilian services, BurnPits 360 is offering free haircuts once a month for any veteran, First Responders, and their families.
“It would be great to really alleviate that hardship for a lot of veterans, and just give them a sense of feeling great.,” says Director Rosie Torres, “and again, alleviate that expense of having to go out and spend money on that.”
The inspiration for this event was offered by military wife, Jazmin Rivera. Her husband is currently deployed in Kuwait. She says she wants to find ways to help others, especially veterans who are in need. Rivera, who has been a 15-year hairstylist says, “it’s gonna be more than just a haircut and it just makes you feel so much better about yourself. Ya know get your day started feeling great, it’s just a great feeling to have a fresh haircut.”
Rivera will be accompanied by another barber, who is also a veteran, Abel Gonzalez. Gonzalez says he’s a 3rd generation barber and understands that a good haircut for anyone is something that everyone needs. Whether for a job or event, it always lifts their spirit.
Gonzalez says BurnPits 360 is an organization that truly helps veterans and he hopes to see more veterans find their way through the doors.
Haircuts for Heroes will be the 3rd Monday of every Month. The next event will take place on Monday, April 22nd from 12 pm – 3 pm.
