CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Coastal Bend Food Bank received a generous donation on Wednesday during one of its pop-up food distribution events. Conviva Care Solutions presented the nonprofit with an oversized check for $150,000.

"We were running out of food. We probably would have only had food for two more weeks but donations like this hundred and fifty thousand dollars will allow us to reach out and buy more food and make sure that we can continue to do large distributions as they are needed," said Bea Hanson, Executive Director for the Coastal Bend Food Bank.

The Coastal Bend Food Bank has been organizing and holding pop-up food giveaways since the stay-at-home orders went into effect. The nonprofit realized the need for food donations was growing as more people lost their jobs and began seeking help.

Conviva Care Solutions has challenged local businesses to match their $150,000 donation to the food bank.
