You will find the latest information at the top of the story and all previously reported information below. We hope that including all these reports in one place will paint a more complete picture of the local response to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

7/20 updates:

9:00 a.m.- Brooks County is now at 56 COVID-19 cases. While 34 cases have been recovered, 22 cases remain active. Live Oak is at 101 COVID-19 cases. 40 are recovering and 71 are active. Kleberg County is reporting five additional cases raising its total to 268 COVID-19 cases.

8:40 a.m.- Bee County reports 14 new cases Monday. Those new cases raise the total to 215 COVID-19 cases.

8:00 a.m.- Duval County went up to 105 COVID-10 cases this weekend. They also now have 45 that are recovered. Jim Hogg County has 45 COVID-19 cases 28 of those cases are recovered while 14 remain active.

7/19 updates:

4:30 p.m. - Nueces County officials reported five deaths and 172 new COVID cases on Sunday. It pushes the overall total to 95 deaths and 8,579 total reported cases locally during the pandemic, according to the city's website.

The deceased were four males and a female with ages ranging in their 50s, 60s (2), 70s and 80s. The comorbidities of the patients included hypertension, coronary artery disease, diabetes and congestive heart failure.

7/18 updates:

4:45 p.m. - Nueces County officials reported eight deaths and 236 new COVID cases on Saturday. It pushes the overall total to 90 deaths and 8,407 total reported cases during the pandemic.

7/17 updates:
10:13 p.m. - The City of Kingsville posted a COVID-19 update to its Facebook page Friday stating that two residents and 17 employees at Kingsville Nursing and Rehabilitation have tested positive for the virus. The employees currently are being quarantined, and the post states all residents and employees will be retested on July 27.

5:15 p.m. - Nueces Co.-Corpus Christi Public Health District Director Annette Rodriguez announced during Friday's daily joint news briefing that an additional five deaths were reported, bringing the day's reported death count to 12. The total number of deaths is now 87.

Rodriguez also said 85 babies under the age of a year old have been diagnosed with the virus in the county.

5:05 p.m. - Nueces County reported 310 new cases on Friday, bringing the number of total reported cases to 8,171. Of those patients, 1,039 have recovered and 111 remain in the ICU

4:58 p.m. - Bee County reports 18 additional community cases since July 9. This number does not include local prison inmates.

The county is reporting 124 active cases, 49 recovered cases, and 176 total cases which does include non-prisoners and prisoners.

4:23 p.m. - The Nueces Co.-Corpus Christi Public Health District is reporting seven women between the ages of 50 and 89 have died in Nueces Co. The women suffered from underlying conditions such as chronic kidney disease, diabetes and hypertension. The county's death toll is now up to 82 people.

3 p.m. - San Patricio County officials are investigating a possible third death related to COVID-19 in their county.

"Recently Dr. Mobley explained that the Public Health Department must rely on the death certificate to determine actual COVID death," said a release from the county. "Further because there is a time lag between a death and the certification, a case is under investigation until his department receives the death certificate."

Public Health Preparedness Department is also reporting seventeen new cases Friday and 14 individuals released from COVID-19 protocols.

The hospitalization count remains the same and the confirmed case count rises to 402. The county has 159 active cases.

7/16 updates:

10:42 p.m. - Mayor Sam Fugate and County Judge Rudy Madrid reported 15 additional COVID-19 cases in Kleberg county.

With 176 reported cases in July, they have surpassed the previous 4 months of cases counts combined.

Currently there are 154 active COVID-19 cases in Kleberg county.

5:03 p.m. - Nueces Co. is reporting 329 new cases Thursday, for a total of 7,861 reported cases since March. Of those patients, 387 are in the hospital, which is 50 more people than Wednesday.

3:48 p.m. - The Corpus Christi - Nueces County Public Health District reports five new COVID-19 related deaths. The patients were three men and two women with ages between 40 and 80 and comorbidities including hypertension, and diabetes.

3:57 p.m. - 8 new cases have been reported in Aransas county for a total of 65.

3:56 p.m. - 21 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in San Patricio county. They now have 385 total cases with 229 recovered and 2 in the hospital.

7/15 updates:

10:41 p.m. - Jim Wells is reporting 22 new COVID-19 cases for a total of 372 reported cases.

10:12 p.m. - Kleberg County is reporting 35 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, its highest single-day increase. The county now has had a total of 232 reported cases.

9:19 p.m. - Live Oak County reported an additional two cases, bringing its total reported cases to 87.

9:18 p.m. - Brooks Co. reported four new COVID-19 cases, bringing its total confirmed cases to 53.

5:06 p.m. - The General Land Office will allow Corpus Christi and Nueces Co. officials to restrict vehicle traffic on beaches for the next two weeks in an effort to slow COVID-19 spread locally.

The order echoes the Fourth of July order, and goes into effect Thursday. A curfew -- 8:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. -- also will be in effect on all Nueces Co. beaches.

4:52 p.m. - Nueces Co. is reporting six new deaths Wednesday, bringing the county's total to 70. Five hundred (500) new cases were also reported, bringing the county's total to 7,532 confirmed cases. In the last two days, more than 1,000 cases have been reported in the county. Of those patients, 106 currently being treated in the ICU.

3:20 p.m. - Another COVID cases has been reported in Aransas County. They are now up to 57 cases.

3:15 p.m. - Twelve new COVID cases have been reported in San Patricio County. That pushes the total there to 364, including 217 recovered. Two patients remain in the hospital.

7/14 updates:

7:50 p.m. - Live Oak County reports their first death related to COVID-19 and 3 new cases of COVID-19. That brings the case number up to 85. According to officials, 30 cases are in quarantine and 34 cases are recovering. This leaves 64 active cases for the county as of Tuesday.

5:10 p.m. - Addressing the public in a news conference Tuesday, City Manager Peter Zanoni says that Nueces County is second in Texas in fatalities and fifth in hospitalizations.

4:59 p.m. - Nueces County officials have reported 605 new coronavirus cases. This is the highest single-day count to date. The previous highest single-day record was 445 on Wednesday of last week. Read the full story here.

4:33 p.m. - Nueces County officials have reported six new deaths related to COVID-19, bringing the county's total of deaths to 64. Read the full story here.

3:10 p.m. - San Patricio County officials report 13 new COVID cases, pushing the county's overall total to 352. Of that total, 208 have recovered. One COVID patient remains in the hospital.

3:05 p.m. - Live Oak County has reported 13 new COVID cases. It pushes them to 82 COVID cases during the pandemic.

7/13 updates:

9:07 p.m. - Kleberg County and the City of Kingsville have announced nine new COVID cases, bringing their total case count to 186. Four individuals have been released from isolation. The county currently has 114 active cases with 115 confirmed cases in the month of July alone.

5:13 p.m. - Nueces County reports 4 new deaths related to the coronavirus, 253 new cases, and 100 currently in intensive care units.

4:15 p.m. - Del Mar College reports that one employee and one student have tested positive for COVID-19. The area on the East Campus where the exposures occurred has been disinfected and the people with cases have been told to quarantine.

4:09 p.m. - The Public Health Preparedness Department in San Patricio county has reported 29 new cases Monday. One case is in the hospital. The County’s confirmed COVID-19 case count is now 339 with 161 active cases.

22 individuals have been released from COVID-19 protocol.

1:20 p.m. - Kleberg Co. Judge Rudy Madrid says he supports Congressman Cloud's request for the USS Comfort to come to the Gulf coast to aid in pandemic efforts here.

The judge is also drafting a new request for some sort of military assistance. His background in the Navy affords him the knowledge of military hospital ships other than the USS comfort that he says could be sent to South Texas.

He is asking for surrounding county Judges to sign onto that request, including Nueces Co. Judge Barbara Canales.

They will be sending it to Gov. Abbott.
