CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — All interests along the northern Gulf coast are watching the development of the tropical disturbance in the northeast Gulf. This system will likely become a depression by Thursday morning, a tropical storm by Friday morning and a minimal hurricane before landfall in Louisiana on Saturday. This system is no threat here.

Tonight will be clear and tranquil with a low of 75.

Thursday will be mostly sunny and blazing hot with isolated thundershowers near the coast during the afternoon and evening and a high of 96. Thursday night we will have light winds with isolated showers late and a low of 74.

Friday expect isolated showers in the morning otherwise mostly sunny and blazing hot again with a high of 96. The heat index will be a little better the next couple of days and only between 100 and 105.
