Tropical moisture on the increase for the weekend

A weak tropical wave in the western Gulf of Mexico will add additional moisture to the South Texas atmosphere and will touch off an increase in rainfall activity through the weekend and into early next week.

No single day will be a washout, but there may be brief interruptions in outdoor activities, especially Saturday and Sunday, depending on where you live in the Coastal Bend.

Tonight will be calm and quiet with mainly clear skies and a low of 73.

Friday, expect considerable sunshine in and around isolated showers and a stifling hot high of 93 outside the few rain areas.

Friday night should be dry by the time area football games kick off, then mainly clear, warmer and sticky with a low of 77.

Saturday, expect scattered tropical showers on the coast in the morning working slowly inland on a moderate sea breeze with a high only near 90 degrees.

More of the same on Sunday.
