CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Upper level high pressure will move back over the area to dominate with hot dry sinking air that will limit rainfall over the next week to just a stray shower.

Because of the high humidity due to elevated Gulf winds our heat index will routinely top 110 degrees each afternoon.

Tonight expect fair skies, a light south breeze, very warm and stuffy with a low of 81.

Friday will be dry and sweltering with mostly sunny skies and a high of 97.

Friday night will be mainly clear but remaining warm and stuffy with a low of 79.

Saturday will be breezy and blazing hot with a high of 96 under mostly sunny skies.

More of the same on Sunday, hot breezy and dry.

The tropics are OK for now with nothing threatening.
