CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The folks who run the City Marina on the bayfront have some outside help to clear debris from the water.

Six volunteers from the National Spill Control School at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi spent today removing trash and debris from the water.

Despite an early start, the students say it been routine work.

“And we've been pulling some mainly planks and stuff out from between the boats,” said Erin Mueller of the National Spill Control School. “Fortunately, we had only had one sunken boat here so our floating docks did really good, did a really good job of all out stuff afloat.”

The students say they'll be back on Tuesday to help finish the job.
