CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory from 5 p.m. until midnight tonight.
Due to persistent moderate onshore flow, water levels are expected to reach minor coastal flooding criteria.
Tide levels continue to run 0.5 to 0.75 ft above normal; water levels up to 2.4 ft above MSL will be possible during times of high tide, resulting in 1 foot of beach inundation along Gulf-facing beaches late this afternoon through the evening.
Additional Coastal Flood Advisories are possible during times of high tide throughout the work week.
The NWS suggests that if travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take necessary actions to protect flood-prone property.
Poor driving conditions are expected as water reaches the dunes, mainly near times of high tide.
Some beach access roads will be impassible. High water levels will also approach low areas along the intracoastal waterways and bays.
Coastal flood impacts are dependent upon waves as well as tide level. High waves can increase the severity of impacts.
High tide times today will be at 8:08 p.m. at Port Aransas and 7:46 p.m. at Bob Hall Pier.
