CORPUS CHRISTI — We are going to see another day with more record heat likely here in the Coastal Bend. Expect partly sunny skies with a daytime high around 100 degrees. The winds will be out of the northeast at 5 to 10 miles per hour. We are definitely on the hot and dry side of Tropical Storm Barry. It is still likely to come onshore along the central Louisiana Coast in the next couple of hours. The main threat from this storm will be flooding. Some areas in the Mississippi Valley could get between 10 and 20 inches of rain. The main impact for us will likely be increased surf tomorrow with a higher risk of rip currents. We could also see a few isolated showers tomorrow afternoon. The forecast for Sunday calls for an afternoon high around 98 degrees.
We will be stuck in a hot and dry weather pattern for much of the week ahead. Look for daytime highs in the mid 90's with overnight lows in the upper 70's.
