CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A large dome of high pressure with sinking dry air is centered over Texas resulting in a stagnant weather pattern with no opportunity for any meaningful rainfall. In the tropics a system by the Bahamas has only a low end chance of development while another system in the central Atlantic will likely turn into “Chantal” and move west-northwest toward the Lesser Antilles and southern Bahamas by early next week. Neither system is a threat here.
