CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — High pressure has firm control of our forecast and will result in another beautiful day across South Texas with lots of sunshine and comfortable high temperatures.

Winds will shift more southeasterly today, but remain light, and that will result in higher humidity and warmer afternoon highs for Wednesday and Thursday ahead of our next cold front.

Today, expect mainly sunny skies with light southeasterly winds around 6-12 mph and an afternoon high of 71.

Tonight, humidity will be noticeably higher, and it won't be as cold as this morning, but temperatures will still be on the cool side in the low 50s with a few extra clouds.

Wednesday will be all about the wind returning to the area. Southeasterly winds will be sustained around 15-25 mph with stronger gusts and a high of 77.

Thursday it warms up even more as a cold front enters north Texas early in the day. We'll go with a forecast high of 83 here in Corpus Christi with, again, lots of wind around 15-25 mph out of the southeast.

Thursday night and into Friday morning the cold front will move through the area and bring some cooler and drier air back to the region. Unfortunately, the small opportunity for a brief shower looks to remain off to our north and east and we'll stay dry.

Friday afternoon we'll be back in the mid-60s for highs. A reinforcing front looks to arrive early Sunday morning and keep some cool air in South Texas. Either way, the weekend looks good with mainly sunny skies, though winds look on the breezy side on Super Sunday with the arrival of that early morning front.

Have a great day!
