CORPUS CHRISTI — We should see a little increase in cloud cover and shower activity for the end to the weekend here in the Coastal Bend. A few showers have already started moving in from the Gulf this morning. The forecast for today call for partly sunny skies with scattered thunderstorms possible. Look for a daytime high around 91 degrees. The winds will pick up out of the northeast at 5 to 15 miles per hour. Tonight we can expect partly cloudy skies with isolated showers. Expect an overnight low around 76 degrees.

It could be a rather wet start to our work week. A disturbance moving across the Gulf of Mexico will bring much more widespread showers and thunderstorms Monday through Wednesday. The Hurricane Center indicates this low has about a 20 percent chance of developing into a tropical depression or tropical storm. The heaviest rainfall should remain near the coast. Some areas could pick up between 2 and 3 inches of rain or more. Daytime highs will be in the lower 90's with overnight lows in the mid to upper 70's.
