AEP Texas officials are reporting that it is currently unknown when repairs will be made after Hurricane Hanna's arrival Saturday knocked out power at many homes across the Coastal Bend.
Spokesman Omar Lopez said 194,000 people remain without power, down from 197,630 over the last 24 hours.
These numbers include customers in the Corpus Christi, Laredo and Rio Grande Valley regions.
Crews have been brought in from other areas to help with repairs.
There were 36,600 customers without power in Corpus Christi as of 6 a.m. Sunday and 7,200 in Aransas Pass. and 2,900 in Falfurrias. Most of the outages are affecting the Rio Grande Valley.
Repairs will be prioritized by what are called "critical load customers": hospitals, nursing homes, city facilities, shelters and food centers. Other customers will follow.
