CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — Hurricane Laura made landfall Wednesday night and is weakening as she heads north through Louisiana and Arkansas today.

Here in the Coastal Bend, we will continue to have minor coastal flooding today as swells will continue to be high with a high rip current risk. There is a Coastal Flood Advisory until 7 p.m.

Expect a sweltering afternoon today with high temperatures in the upper 90s and dangerous heat indices from 110-114. There is a heat advisory from noon to 6 PM today. Isolated showers and t-storms are possible as tropical moisture lingers.

Friday and Saturday look mostly sunny, hot, and humid as temperatures reach the upper 90s with heat indices up to 112. A tropical wave moving near the coast Sunday will give us a chance of scattered showers and t-storms.
