CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Emergency personnel were scrambling early this morning after a heavy rainfall flooded the Holly exit on State Highway 286.
Police advise that high water is being seen in all directions at the intersection. They suggest using caution in the area and using another route if at all possible.

There have been several accidents reported on Corpus Christi highways, but no injuries have been reported.
More rain is expected to continue throughout the morning. It's the result of a strong cold front that entered the Coastal Bend on Wednesday evening, bringing heavy rainfall that is expected through early New Year's Day.
The National Weather Service is expecting between 1 and 3 inches of rain east of Highway 281 and between half an inch and 1 inch west of Highway 281. Winds gust of up to 40 mph could arrive with the storms.
The city has not started barricading local roads yet.
It's undetermined whether this morning's rain will postpone tonight's scheduled fireworks show downtown. Mayor Joe McComb hinted that rains could push back tonight's scheduled celebration, tentatively set for 7 p.m., until Friday night if inclement weather persists.
