CORPUS CHRISTI — We've seen plenty of sunshine across the area along with cool temperatures thanks to surface high pressure in place. Our afternoon low and high today have both been below seasonal average as we dipped to 46 early this morning and 70 this afternoon. Our average low for this time of year is 51 and our average high is 71.
We'll continue to have a very quiet weather pattern for tonight as the high remains in place. This will promote another night of radiational cooling with the light winds and clear skies. We'll look for an overnight of 42 here in Corpus Christi and upper 30s for our northern counties. Wind: NNE 3-6 MPH
Tuesday will feature another round of beautiful sunshine, light winds and a high of 75. The high will move over into the Gulf and give more of southerly wind. Wind: SSE 5-10 MPH
On Wednesday, high pressure will sink back into the area and turn our southerly winds back to a more northerly direction. Still, temperatures will be in the mid to upper 70s along with lots of sun. High: 77 Wind: ENE 5-10 MPH
Thursday the clouds will pick up some and temperatures will really warm up ahead of a frontal boundary that will arrive early Friday morning. Look for a high of 80 on Thursday and back into the 70s for a high on Friday. Once the frontal boundary moves in, we'll see just a few stray showers and temperatures eventually dropping into the low 50s by Saturday morning.
Saturday afternoon looks very nice with sunshine and a high of 71. By Sunday and into Monday, the temperatures and the clouds will rebound quickly with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s under partly to mainly cloudy skies. A stronger front moves in Monday evening with some cooler air.
