CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Higher humidity moving into the Coastal Bend resulted in heavy fog across the area early this morning, proving to be very difficult for drivers' early-morning commutes. The National Weather Service issued a Dense Fog Advisory that was valid until late morning. Once that fizzled out, we did end up with a pretty nice day with lots of afternoon sunshine and highs in the upper 70s to low 80s.

Tonight, we will see another round of fog. However, cloud coverage will begin to move in, so that should inhibit the fog from being so widespread.

With that said, there still will be locations with visibility that falls below one mile to near-none. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution and drive with lights on -- preferably low-beam lights, because high beam reflect greater off the water droplets -- and to give themselves extra time to get to their destinations. Overnight lows will be cool, but not quite as cool as last night as we fall into the middle 60s with winds out of the south-southeast around 5-10 MPH.

For Wednesday, we'll see more clouds and definitely more wind by the afternoon. Winds will be out of the south-southeast around 15-25 MPH and gusting higher than 30. We'll look for a high around 82 in Corpus Christi.

Much of the same is in store Thursday and Friday, with warm and humid afternoons with plenty of wind. Friday evening, a cold front will move through the area and bring in some cooler and drier air. Unfortunately we won't see much rainfall associated with the front: The heaviest rainfall will be north of the Coastal Bend, and in East Texas. We'll be lucky if we pick up a few tenths of an inch here and there.

This front is not overly strong, but it will cool things down some and make for a nice and comfortable weekend, with lows in the upper 40s-to-low 50s and highs in the low 70s.
