CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — For the fifth consecutive day, the Coastal Bend is under heat alerts this afternoon as high heat and humidity will produce dangerous heat indices up to 118 degrees. Except for isolated morning showers, it looks dry today with a windy, hot afternoon.

A Heat Advisory is in effect starting at 11 am until 7 pm for all of the Coastal Bend with an Excessive Heat Warning for Kleberg and Jim Wells counties where the heat index could top out at 118 degrees this afternoon.

High temperatures will reach 96 in Corpus Christi to 102 inland and low 90s at the coast as southeast winds increase to 15 mph, gusting to 30 mph. It will be windy through Wednesday as the high heat and humidity continue.

Increasing moisture ahead of a weak frontal boundary will bring back our chance of showers and t-storms Friday and into the upcoming weekend.
