Cloudy, windy & humid this week with above normal temperatures

We had very nice weather this weekend for the many outdoor festivities that were going on in the Coastal Bend.  Hopefully everyone was able to go out and enjoy some of the sunshine.

As a few weak frontal boundaries move through the Central Plains, they will increase wind, humidity and cloud coverage here in the Coastal Bend for much of the upcoming work week.

We should be averaging an afternoon high of 84 for this time of year, but for the week ahead we’ll be a couple of degrees above that around 85-88 for afternoon high temperatures.

Tonight will be mainly cloudy, humid and mild with an overnight low of 71.  Winds: SSE 9-18 MPH

Monday we’ll see the clouds continue to increase in areal coverage and windy conditions out of the southeast around 15-25MPH and gusting.  Again, the afternoon high will be above normal at 87 here in the city of Corpus Christi, with upper 80s to low 90s inland.

Not much change in store for Tuesday and Wednesday, however with increasing humidity off the Gulf, it is not going to be completely out of the question to see a few stray showers and thundershowers that may kick off with daytime heating.  Though, they will be very stray to isolated in nature and should not last long.  At the most, just a minor interruption if you have outdoor activities planned.

Thursday and Friday, the winds will relax a bit, but still stay breezy.  This will be as another weak front moves into the northern parts of the state. Depending on where the front decides to stall out, will dictate where some scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop.  For now it looks to stall in the Hill Country on Friday and that’s where most of the activity will stay, but we’ll include a few showers in the forecast for the end of the week.

If the front stays north we’ll stay dry, but cloudy, very warm and humid for Saturday, as we kick off the Buc Days Parade.  We’ll be monitoring the weekend closely as there are numerous activities in the Coastal Bend once again going on for the upcoming weekend.  Stay tuned and have a great week!
