CORPUS CHRISTI – It was a warm start to our weekend here in the Coastal Bend. We saw an afternoon high of 90 degrees today. However, all eyes should be on an approaching storm system from the west. This should give us the possibility of some pretty strong thunderstorms around sunrise on Sunday. The forecast fort tonight calls for increasing clouds with a few isolated showers possible. The winds will be blowing out of the southeast at 15 to 20 miles per hour. Look for an overnight low around 70 degrees. The forecast for Sunday calls for early morning showers and thunderstorms. A few of these storms could contain gusty winds large hail and brief heavy rainfall. We also can not rule out a few isolated tornadoes.

The storms should move offshore by around lunch time. We could see some clearing by late afternoon. Expect a daytime high around 80 degrees tomorrow. We will see abundant sunshine for much of the week ahead. Daytime highs will continue in the mid to upper 80’s. Another frontal boundary will move into the area late week. This will bring us a little cooler temperatures next Friday and Saturday.
