The weather pattern over Texas has been less than impressive if you have been looking for the sunshine.  Clouds, cold temperatures, mist and drizzle have pretty much been dominant over the last couple of weeks.  The overall pattern has just been very messy and it will continue to the start of the work week.

Tonight we’ll see some light drizzle, mist and fog throughout the Coastal Bend.  Though, it won’t be quite as cold as it was last night as we still stop with an overnight low in the mid to upper 50s.  Winds: Light and Variable

For Monday, our subtropical tap of moisture will continue streaming overhead with plenty of clouds, though we could see a little hint of sunshine throughout the region. However, clouds will dominate.  Temperatures will be noticeably warmer as highs push the mid 70s in the afternoon.

This is a direct response to the next cold front that will be pushing into the Rockies and into Texas by the early afternoon hours on Monday.

By Monday night, around midnight and 3AM, the front will make it all the way to the Coastal Bend with a line of showers and thundershowers possible.  Cool and drier air will filter in and by Tuesday afternoon highs will be back near normal with mostly sunny skies and less humidity.

Clouds will slowly increase through Thursday, Valentine’s Day.  Temperatures will also warm up in the afternoons after starting in the middle 40s Wednesday morning.

Early Friday will be the next frontal boundary coming through.  The front is weak though and will send temperatures back near seasonal average.
