CORPUS CHRISTI – It should be a pretty pleasant New Year’s day here in the Coastal Bend. We will see a mixture of sunshine and clouds with an afternoon high around 64 degrees. The winds will be blowing out of the northeast at 5 to 15 miles per hour. Another surge of cold air will be moving in tonight. The forecast for this evening calls for cloudy and cool conditions with an overnight low around 45 degrees. Some patchy light rain will also be possible. It will remain cloudy and wet for Wednesday. The daytime high tomorrow will only be in the lower 50’s. A few light rain showers could linger through Thursday morning. Look for a bit of sunshine Thursday afternoon with an afternoon high around 60 degrees.
High pressure will build into the area as we head toward the weekend. This will bring us abundant sunshine and warming temperatures. Highs on both Saturday and Sunday will be in the lower 70’s. We will remain in a rather tranquil weather pattern through early next week.
