CORPUS CHRISTI – It was a hot and humid start to our weekend here in the Coastal Bend. We made it up to 88 degrees this afternoon with heat index values near 100 degrees. We also saw a few isolated showers pop up. We picked up close to 7 tenths of an inch of rain out at the airport. It was also rather breezy. The peak wind gusts was a 36 miles per hour. It will be a little less windy tomorrow. However, very similar weather conditions are expected for the end to the weekend. The forecast for tomorrow calls for partly sunny skies with an afternoon high in the upper 80’s. The winds will be blowing out of the southeast at 15 to 20 miles per hour. Isolated showers will also be possible.

Some big weather changes are coming our way for the start to the workweek. A strong cold front will roll through South Texas late on Monday. This could trigger some strong thunderstorms. It will also usher in some much cooler and windy weather. Daytime highs will be in the low to mid 60’s midweek. Overnight lows will be in the 50’s. Showers are likely for much of the workweek. We will see a gradual warm up as we get closer to next weekend.
