Deals for Vets today on Veterans Day

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Many restaurants and businesses are offering discounts or free meals for veterans today.

The Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History said it is having a Veteran’s Dollar Day event, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday.

The museum will be offering a $1 admission special to all Veterans, active-Duty military members and their families. In addition to the dollar day, it will be hosting a special patriotic science show and an interactive theater. The museum said it will require a valid I.D. for veterans and active-duty military upon entry.

The Veterans Band said it will be performing and honoring vets on Veterans Day at Sherrill Park at 10 a.m. today and then at the U.S.S. Lexington Museum at 2 p.m.

Honk for Heroes will take place in front of the flags at Ropes Park, Cole Park and Oleander Point in recognition of veterans from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. today.

And for veterans looking for deals on meals, Chops and Eggs will have 10% off any meal with military I.D. and are open all day.

At Bubba’s 33 at 1921 S. Padre Island Drive, you can get two free meals with your military I.D. One you’ll get today from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. and then, you’ll get a coupon for a free entree on your next meal.

Buffalo Wild Wings on Padre island Drive will provide a free order of 10 boneless wings and a side of fries with valid I.D.

If you are looking for great deals out of the restaurant world, Wash Works Express says it’s offering a free “the works” wash with valid military I.D. at either of its locations on King Avenue in Kingsville or on Cimarron Boulevard in Corpus Christi.

Veterans can also get a free haircut today or a free haircut card at Great Clips at the following locations: 3133 S. Alameda St., 4938 S. Staples St., 6601 Everhart Rd., 2311 Hwy. 35 N, Rockport.
