Dress Up As Your Favorite Superhero For The CASA Super Hero 5K
Superheroes by the hundreds will take to the streets of Corpus Christi Saturday to show their support for CASA of the Coastal Bend.
The 14th Annual CASA Superhero 5K Run/2 Mile Walk and Kids 1K, sponsored in part by KRIS 6 News, will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday at Heritage Park (1581 N. Chaparral St.)
As always, those who participate are encouraged to dress for the part! A Superhero Costume Contest will offer more than $3,000 in prizes.
KRIS 6 Anchor Paulo Salazar will serve as this year’s event emcee.
At CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), they like to point out that every child needs a hero, but neglected and abused children need a superhero. That is why volunteers are trained to become a voice and an advocate for children who are in foster care in Nueces, San Patricio and Aransas counties. Their mission is to speak up for and find permanent homes for children in crisis in these communities.
