Two officers who made a career out of keeping Corpus Christi students safe are hanging up their uniforms.
At a ceremony today at Ray High School, Lt. Suzanne Gonzales and Sgt. Edward Lerma retired from the Corpus Christi Independent School District Police Department.
At a ceremony today, both Gonzales and Lerma were presented with their retirement credentials and other retirement mementos.
Lerma, who has been with the force for 18 years, hopes to start his own home contracting business.
Gonzales, who has been with the district police for more than 20 years, says she’s going to use her retirement to do whatever she wants.
