After a very windy start to the weekend, we’ve had a dynamite Sunday in South Texas with lots of sunshine to go around and highs only in the lower 60s.

Clear skies will carry over into tonight and will be fantastic viewing for the Super Blood Wolf Moon Eclipse! That’s a mouthful! The total eclipse begins at 10:41PM, the maximum eclipse is at 11:12PM and the total eclipse ends at 11:43PM.  The next one will not occur until 2021.

Overnight will remain mostly clear with low temperatures not quite as cold as last night, but still very chilly in the lower 40s.  Winds: SE 4-8MPH

For the start of the work week, on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, we’ll maintain mainly sunny skies, but overall more than today with highs a bit milder in the lower 70s with the winds kicking up again. Wind: SSE 15-25MPH

Cloud coverage will increase through Tuesday along with the winds in response to our next cold front that will arrive late Tuesday night and early Wednesday with a round of showers and thundershowers.  This will present our next best opportunity for some rainfall.  Some locations could pick up another quarter to half inch of rain, favoring our northern and northeastern locations.

After the front sweeps through, we’ll clear out again.  Wednesday will be chilly and windy with clearing skies and a high of 54.

Thursday and Friday will be sunny with highs rebounding in the 60s.  A reinforcing front early Friday morning will just keep the cooler temperatures in place for a day longer.  By the weekend, temperatures will moderate back into the upper 60s to lower 70s along with increasing clouds.

Have a great week!
