The 83rd annual Port Aransas Deep Sea Roundup starts Thursday. Actual fishing is Friday and Saturday. The Port Aransas Boatman Association always puts on a great event, but they had to overcome a lot of obstacles brought on by Hurricane Harvey just to be able to host the tournament this year.
"It was pretty tough," said chairperson Frank Eicholz. "at first, we were not sure if we were going to have a tournament. Then we thought about a one day tournament but we had the Owens family step up and they will provide a dinner on Saturday night so we are back to our normal schedule and two two day tournament"
